The Dayboox Story

"I wanted to create a tool that could empower everyone with a new ability to capture, share, and recall their lifetime memories. Achieving such a feat would allow people to become more aware of the importance and significance of life, and to celebrate all life’s exciting moments to ensure none of them will ever be forgotten! It all started by kitesurfing in Australia…”

I grew up on a sheltered suburb of the metropolitan city Munich, next to forests, open land, and a nearby lake where I learned how to windsurf. My appreciation for nature and all it's beauty was instilled at a young age, and even more so as I grew older and traveled to various parts of the world on windsurfing adventures. I still love the sport but have advanced to a more challenging wind-surf sport that has taken me on even greater adventures, and ultimately led me to the creation of Dayboox.

While I was vacationing in Australia on a kitesurfing trip with some friends. I ritually took photos of mornings, afternoons, and nights while traveling along Australia’s' West Coast. I wanted to later share and remember everything, not just the kitesurfing adventure but all our other activities like snorkeling, hiking, camping on the beaches and bays, and traveling.

Most of the sites were absolutely breathtaking and words can’t even describe them; such as the canyons, cities, wildlife, the huge waves… everything I experienced from sunrise to sunset I had to capture so I could later share my Australian experience with others.

As I was finishing my five week kitesurfing trip, which I’ll reiterate was one of the most amazing and memorable vacation I’ve ever had, I was shocked to find that I accidentally deleted the majority of my entries during the synchronization process with my computer.

This was the first time I felt great loss, and I became even more aware of how important and powerful these memorable pictures were to my life. Now, I had nothing to remember by and nothing to physically share. I eventually received some photos of our trip taken by my friends I had been traveling with, but of course these images only partially reflected my personal experience.

When I returned home my family and friends couldn’t wait to see and hear about all of my adventures in Australia, and when I told them what happened they were as struck as I was. Despite the utter disappointment it started a conversation about how they stored their memories. One friend was keeping a photo journal and written diary in a word document that was already too big for his computer to handle efficiently.

After researching online for web services that could capture life chronologically, share the moments with friends, and recall all the memories later in life the way I wanted to, I realized that such a service didn’t exist. How awesome would it be to store and share life in chronological order just like it happened? I thought this was completely brilliant, and began working on it right away.

Since the technology is available today, I was able to create a solution to this problem like never before - a website that has the power to capture your life every single day with the capability to share it with the people that matter. I hope Dayboox.com keeps you closer than ever with your friends and family so no one misses out on a memory you want to share. All entries are sorted chronologically to better recall each and every moment complete with your personal notes, mapped location, and keywords to help further categorize your entries.

With years of experience in the internet, design, marketing, and communication fields, combined with the great people I met along the way, I took the initiative to invent the concept of Dayboox for you. I hope you are as excited as we are, knowing the fact that you’ll never lose a memory again. Dayboox will help you to capture, share, and recall your life anytime, from anywhere!

Have fun using Dayboox and remember to enjoy life.
You only live once, celebrate!

Yours,
Manuel Mark
